Mother Ditch
$28.00
AAA / Rock / Folk
Boris McCutcheon's first full-length cd, Mother Ditch, was recorded in 2001. The songs were inspired by Boris' experiences of people and places in New Mexico and on Cape Cod. "Mother Ditch" reflects Boris' bluegrass and folk roots but is a highly personal album with strikingly original lyrics.
"A promising debut by and artist who's just starting to find his footing in the music world." - Joe Burns, Cape Cod Times
"With tuba in his band, McCutcheon breaks folk rules." - Bill O'Neill, Upper Cape Codder
An all-acoustic affair, Mother Ditch is "folky" without the annoying self-absorption that some "folk" artists engage. Worldly vignettes, character sketches, and wistful remembrances of certain places are masterfully played on mandolin, pedal steel, guitar, and acoustic bass. Piano and harmonica add tasteful color.
